Is Shopify Suitable For You and Your Business?

You might be familiar with Shopify, the Canadian e-commerce company that enables businesses to sell items, ship them and collect payments. But as every business is unique with their setup and challenges the question becomes – is Shopify a good fit for yours?

Shopify is a very user-friendly platform. Daily operations don’t require any coding skills, or a big budget. So, if your business is at an early stage of development, it could definitely be an advantage.
In case you still need anything, Shopify customer support is just a call away, 24/7.
Shopify allows you to sell across multiple platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, and eBay. It also supports multiple payment options. If you don’t want to purchase and install any third-party integrations, Shopify can offer their own credit card processor – Shopify Payments.
Shopify has a quite impressive app marketplace (over 5,000!). Thanks to that, you don’t have to add unnecessary bloat to its core or to clutter up its editor.

A stumbling block – the price. Shopify doesn’t offer a free plan. Its plans start at $29 a month. It includes web hosting, SSl certification, and an option to use a free Shopify subdomain. If you want a unique one, you’ll have to purchase it.
Shopify $79 per month plan offers advanced features like gift cards and additional reposts. More seats, analytics, and discount on payment processing fees can be found in an Advanced Shopify plan – $299 per month.

Shopify will be a great match for small to medium businesses who want to create and develop their online store. However, Kylie Cosmetics and Penguin books use Shopify as well. So, if you are a proud owner of a big business, perhaps you shouldn’t discount Shopify right away – it might help you scale up your store.
Shopify will be best for purely ecommerce sites. If you want to add big piles of content, it might not be the perfect choice.
